Operation Octagon returned to Dulles Sportsplex, in Sterling Virginia, tonight with a mixed kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts card of 18 exciting fights. There where a total of 15 MMA bouts with five Operation Octagon belts up for grabs. Local rivalries were fanned into bonfires as Mikido MMA, Gold Medal Grappling, MMA Institute, Capital Jiu Jitsu, Vanguard Gym and many more pitted their growing rosters of talent against one another.

It was a packed house as fans filled the floor and the balcony to watch local heroes test themselves in one of the toughest arenas for combat sports. Umaer Haq had an action packed fight and finished with a 2nd Round Submission (Guillotine Choke) victory over MMA Institute’s Bryan Lashomb.

Brent Hess dominated his opponent, both standing and on the ground, and seemed to have his choice on how he wanted to finish. He jumped into a tight guillotine wrapping up the main event fight early in the first round. MiKiDo MMA now hold three Operation Octagon belts: 125 lbs Champion Nicole Hess,135 lbs Champion Umaer Haq and, 145 lbs Champion Brent Hess.
